Norwich midfielder Robert Eagle has signed a new one-year contract to stay at Carrow Road.The 21-year-old made 12 appearances last season for the Canaries and did enough to impress manager Glenn Roeder.

Roeder said: "Technically he is gifted and I think with a full year's training and working in the gym with a specific strengthening programme he will improve.

"Left-footed players are quite rare and he has got a very cultured foot. He has earned it this year with his attitude."
