Bristol Rovers boss Paul Trollope has confirmed he is releasing midfielder Sammy Igoe and defender Chris Carruthers as he shuffles his squad.Igoe, 32, made 94 appearances in just over two years for Rovers, while 24-year-old Carruthers managed one goal in 128 appearances for the club.

"They played big parts in the success the football club has had, I have total respect for them," he told BBC Radio Bristol.

"But football clubs move on, and if you stand still you are going backwards."
