Former WBO featherweight champion Scott Harrison has failed in an attempt to regain his boxing licence.
The British Boxing Board of Control extended his suspension until the end of the year after Harrison appeared before a tribunal in Cardiff.
The Scot had his licence revoked after being found guilty of "bringing the sport into disrepute".
Harrison, nicknamed The Real McCoy, was the first Scottish boxer to regain the WBO featherweight championship when he beat Manuel Medina in November 2003 after the Mexican had beaten him in the July of that year.
Harrison has suffered from alcohol and depression problems and spent five weeks in a Spanish jail in late 2006 after being arrested on theft and assault charges.
In February this year he was found guilty of a breach of the peace following an incident in a pub in Glasgow, but was cleared of charges of assaulting a police officer.
