Gabor Talmacsi split from the Aspar Aprilia team after just three rounds of the 2009 250cc World Championship.
The Hungarian, an Aspar rider since winning the 125cc title in 2007, had been competing under the 'Balatonring Team' banner for his rookie 250cc campaign - a reference to the circuit which aims to host a Hungarian round of the 2010 MotoGP World Championship - but problems surrounding a spare bike and contractual issues have prompted the termination of his contract.
We have been working with the Aspar team since our 2007 World Championship season and it was still one of our best decisions, said Stefano Favaro, Talmacsi's manager. The problems started when there was no spare bike at the start of the season. This problem seemed to be solved by Jorge Martinez who promised to find the money to cover the second motorcycle from Jerez. But it hasn't happened.
Then without our permission, certain rights belonging to Faster Management (Talmacsi's management) for years, went to a third party, and they didn't inform us. Together with Gabor, we decided to terminate the contract and we will now try to find another solution.
It is difficult to ride on track while your concentration is distracted by problems like these, said Talmacsi. I don't know what the future will bring, but it can only be better.
During his three rounds as an Aspar 250cc rider, Talmacsi claimed a best qualifying of sixth (Qatar) and best race result of fourth (Japan) to sit sixth in the championship.
Team-mates Alvaro Bautista and Mike di Meglio are second and eighth.
