Clark tips Pilkington for the top

Anthony Pilkington has the potential to play in the Premier League, according to Huddersfield manager Lee Clark.

Pilkington has shown enough of his burgeoning talent since the Terriers paid £500,000 to Stockport for him in January to convince Clark the 20-year-old can go right to the top - but there is still plenty for the winger to work on.

Clark told the Huddersfield Examiner: "Believe me, Anthony has the ability to play in the Premier League.

"Anthony has got huge talent and huge potential, but he's still learning and he tends to drift in and out of games a little.

"Our last game of the season at Leyton Orient was a perfect example, because he was superb in the first half, but quieter in the second.

"Part of my job is to help him attain consistency, and achieving that is as much mental as physical. He's a great player to work with in training because he's so open to improving himself, and I want to help him reach the top, hopefully with this club."
