West Ham manager Gianfranco Zola has backed Carlo Ancelotti to succeed at Chelsea if he gets appointed at Stamford Bridge.
The AC Milan coach is thought to be top of the Blues` wanted list if they fail to keep Guus Hiddink beyond the end of the season.
And Zola said: "I've had him as a manager at Parma, he is a good manager, experienced with teams at a high level for a long time so I'm sure he knows how to take a job like that, if it happens.
"He knows football very well and I'm sure he won't have any problems in this league.
"I know the Premier League is very different to Italy but it is still football and we are talking about someone who has played and coached football for a long time. I'm sure he can handle it."

I agree if he brings the whole AC Milan along with him. The current squd plays a physical approach which is not his style or strong area.
No more manager-go-rounds. It's worse than the Ken Bates era
Pull out all the stops, keep Hiddink and ask him to find a suitable stand in whilst he is on International duty.
I don't want to see negative slow cross field passing which is pretty much the Italian style.
Ancelloti.........thats your lot..ee
Ancolotti yesssss.....but still many candidates
If I was a Chelsea fan a Brit would be top of my wish list for a new manager, but I think he will go to Man U
Personally I don't think Rijkard would cut it either. Again, a good manager with Barca, but league is not about whether he can bring Chelsea to compete with Man Utd toe-to-toe in big games, it's about whether they can get 1-0 wins in away games to 'smaller' clubs. Mourinho knew this very well and was amazingly good at it. Any in-coming Chelsea manager will have to be someone who understands this, that being a Top 4 team manager in EPL means having to accept & find a way to deal with teams playing dogged defence - week-in & week-out. Just look at how Wenger & Benitez are constantly whining about teams playing this way, and in mean while Fergie & Mounrinho used to get their laughs at the end of 1-0 wins.
ancelotti,,,please no,,,another scholari and a bad start to the season until he is sacked,,which he will be
Is it me or is the glaringly obvious answer being avoided? Does anyone else feel that Rijkard is the perfect replacement at Chelsea. He was fantastic at Barcelona and we keep the Dutch mentality that we have under Guus....and they've worked together.Ancelloti is another Scolari waiting to happen.
If Abramovich could have accepted that Mourinho was more popular than him,Chelsea wouldn't be in the position they are in at the moment. With Mourinho, Chelsea would have put Man U in their place once and for all and put an end to their cocky, superior and intimidating attitude especially towards officials !
Zola is supportive as in fellow country man. Raj knows how to get the ball boys which are top needs of Chelsea
Please not Ancelotti, we need a tender coach in the likes of Raj of former barca. this is my notion as a blue blood.
Ancollotti at Chelsea will probably see them mid table and no silver ware next season and thats if there lucky, never been in the premiership, an average cv and doesn't speak any English. brilliant!
Zola is right in his judgments people
nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo not Ancelotti
