Derby boss Paul Jewell confirmed his side's pre-season clash with Lincoln on July 26 has been cancelled - due to their Carling Cup clash.The decision was made after the pair were drawn together in the first round of the competition.

Jewell said: "It doesn't makes sense to play Lincoln in a friendly game so close to a competitive encounter. It was a mutual agreement between both clubs.

"I am looking to fill the free date with another game and will make an announcement on that, as and when possible.

"I am very happy with our pre-season preparations as they stand, even with the cancellation of this match."
