Here is what some of you have been saying:
Donis: Without a doubt Real will underachieve, can you imagine the ego's in the dressing room? I'm a Liverpool fan and I can admit United will still be strong contenders for the league and Europe next season. I'm not ignorant to the fact United have a strong squad and can still play good football without the prima donna, in fact they may actually play better.
Ronnie: Manchester United won trophies and league titles before Ronaldo and they will win them when he goes. Let's face it, as good as he was he didn't have the attitude to be a United legend like Charlton, Law or Best. When did you ever see any of those sitting on the ground with their arms wide open whilst their team-mates were getting him out of the mess he had got them in? He thought he was the team not part of it.
zakkg1307: He has been a major part of the team, but at the same time, he has had a terrible attitude for the past two years. Manchester United will be fine without him as long as they are active in the transfer market. He will be a tough act to follow but if we get a person such as Ribery or even Valencia we will be fine. Needless to say Fergie knows what he is doing and we will take home the league again.
Hugo.forrest: He's obviously a great player - no serious person would dispute that. He's made a significant contribution to the success of the club I've been supporting since 1958. Given the spotlight on him I think he's behaved well enough. All this guff about diving, big-headedness, not being a team player etc etc is a gross exaggeration.I've enjoyed the football he's played in a MU shirt and I'll remember him for that. He'll get on with his career and I wish him all the very best.
Royjohn4: Seriously, a no-brainer this one. A chance to collect £80 million for a player whom you only paid £12m and who doesn't want to play for you anymore? Are you kidding? Fergie should carry Ronaldo on his back all the way to Madrid and grab the cash before they change their minds.
Tevez_united: He will be running the show at Madrid, there's no doubt about that, and he wouldn't have it any other way. I don't watch La Liga much but this is definitely a season I will be following. I really can't see anything but instant success if they get Villa to join also. United might be £80 million richer but what are we really doing with that¬ money? I'd personally like to see the entire wad spent on Ribery and Benzema. Valencia reminds me of Nani and I don't think he's much better.
