Bradford City boss Stuart McCall is running the rule over former Barnsley goalkeeper Nick Colgan, who is training with the Bantams.McCall is on the look-out for a number one after Scott Loach, who was first choice, returned to his parent club Watford at the end of the season.
Colgan, 34, is a free agent after being released by Championship outfit Ipswich Town and McCall is pondering a contract offer to the Drogheda-born keeper.
The Bantams have drafted in youngster Jonathan McLaughlin from Harrogate Town this summer, but McCall has made it clear the 20-year-old will not be the Valley Parade number one.
Instead the City boss is chasing an experienced goalkeeper and if the Bantams can put together an attractive financial package, Colgan could be on board by the end of the week.
