Lincoln boss Peter Jackson is itching to get the pre-season campaign underway against Aston Villa after their first friendly was called off.A waterlogged pitch put paid to the clash with Harrogate at Wetherby Road on Friday night, so the Imps' first game of the pre-season will not be until Tuesday when they host Premier League Villa.
"After working so hard in training, the players had certainly been looking forward to getting out there and playing a competitive game," Jackson told the Lincolnshire Echo.
"But it wasn't to be and they are now saving themselves for the game against Villa which, I'm absolutely positive, will be a fantastic occasion."
"After losing Friday's game to the weather, they are champing at the bit now and there is certainly a buzz about the game."
