Bristol City keeper Chris Weale claims he turned down offers to leave Ashton Gate this summer because he has unfinished business at the club.Weale made just five appearances for the Robins last season with Adriano Basso being Gary Johnson's first choice.
But that has not stopped the 26-year-old from signing a new one-year deal, and he told the club's official website: "I did have offers from other clubs and I did have to think about it but I wanted to give it another year here - I haven't given it a full year here being fully fit.
"I haven't achieved what I wanted to achieve so I want to give it another year. Hopefully I will achieve it.
"I like a challenge, I need a challenge. I've set myself some goals, which I won't reveal, but obviously Adriano's favourite to start the new season in goal.
"I'll keep pushing Adriano all the way and when I get in hopefully I'll keep my place. This is the toughest battle I've had in football but I want to keep that challenge up. I could have cut my losses but I'm not a quitter."
