Marseille president Pape Diouf claims to be "amused" by an appeal launched by his club's fans to raise the £22million needed to buy Chelsea star Didier Drogba.
New Chelsea boss Luiz Felipe Scolari claims Drogba is still "200 per cent in his plans" but the striker is reportedly adamant that he will be heading for the Stamford Bridge exit door.
Barcelona, AC Milan and Inter Milan are all said to be interested in the Ivory Coast international but Marseille fans have launched an audacious bid to bring the 30-year-old back to the club he left four years ago.
Despite suffering a setback when the initial site crashed, the new appeal reached the one million-euro mark on Sunday.
The fans behind the initiative admitted that it would be impossible to raise the money to buy Drogba, instead insisting that the point of the project was to alert Diouf to the fans' wishes.
"I'm surprised and amused. It shows the true passion of our supporters," Diouf told regional newspaper La Provence.
However, he joked that even if the fans could raise the money for the transfer, that alone would not be enough.
"I know what Drogba earns at Chelsea!" he added.
Instead Diouf's attention has been focused on adding Nice forward Bakary Kone to Marseille's attacking line.
Kone admitted last week he could not imagine playing for the south coast club again following the rejection of a bid of 8.5million euros, which included an extra million in bonuses.

no club can take my beloved drogba becus he and only him is the best
Let Drogba go to one of the Milan teams and free English football from his pouting and diving!
Drogba is the best striker in the Premiership... I personally am not keen on him or Chelsea, all the diving, bitching off at the club. But he is still the best.
Drogba's time is running out - he's no longer at his best, and won't find that form again... sorry!

Diddy is the best striker u can think of Last season he did not score many goals coz of injury the only problem with him is that he is a bit short tempered but I think he is a lovely player I wish he cud stay at chelsea and continue from where he left. We luv u Diddy u a the best
he is to good better then torres he did not score hardley no goals because he went to african cup nations plus he was injurged he is not going anywhere next season if he plays for chelsea he going to be the best
DROGBA on the pitch is a good player, infact the third best striker after Ronaldo(man utd) , Kaka (ac milan), the only problem with DROGBA is lack of wisdom outside the pitch, He must know player nor coach is BIGGER than a CLUB like Chelsea, even ABROMOVICH is not BIGGER than Chelsea
DROGBA is a good player BUT he lacks wisdom at times
droga is the best striker in the world
he needs a club by the coast, it makes diving easier........................ ha
that is nonsense
