Ligue 1 - M'Bia completes Marseille move

Stoke City target Stephane M'Bia has completed his £10.4 million move to Marseille from Rennes.

"Mbia has passed the medical tests and signed a four-year contract," a Marseille spokesman said.

The 23-year-old midfielder is Marseille's fourth summer signing by coach Didier Deschamps following his swoops for Lucho Gonzalez, Edouard Cisse, Charley Fomen and Souleymane Diawara.

The player almost joined Everton last year but the clubs could not agree a fee.

M'Bia can play right-back and centre-half as well as defensive midfield.

Ex-Juventus boss Deschamps is also interested in Lille centre-back Adil Rami, who told Radio RMC that he would "play in the French Amateur League for six months" if his club did not allow him to leave.
