We chart Carlos Tevez's time at Manchester United and all the major developments of his transfer saga.
31 August 2006 - Signs for West Ham from Corinthians in a controversial third-party deal from the MSI company that eventually leads to legal action and a £20 million settlement paid to Sheffield United, who were relegated at the end of the season. Fellow Argentine Javier Mascherano joins him.
10 August 2007 - After an epic transfer saga, joins Manchester United on a two-year loan from MSI.
26 July 2008 - MSI chief Kia Joorabchian says he is confident Tevez will sign permanently with United: "Manchester United have been fantastic with Carlos - he's very lucky to have them and they are lucky too because he's been very good for them. It looks like it should happen - but we don't know the timing, whether it will be a month, two or six."
17 October 2008 - Tevez denies reports he is unhappy at United, despite the club's reluctance to pay MSI's £30m asking price to make the transfer permanent.
13 November 2008 - Argentina boss Diego Maradona reveals Tevez is unhappy at losing his United place to new signing DimitarBerbatov: "Tevez is worried about not being in United's first choice team."
5 January 2009 - Tevez says he is unhappy with manager Alex Ferguson's handling of the situation and says he has not been offered a new contract: "I didn't like him (Ferguson) saying I didn't like the offer I was made because neither my agent nor me were given one. I want to stay but the club have not made any offer. I've been waiting for them for a year and a half."
January 2009 - Real Madrid are linked with a £25m bid for Tevez, either in the winter transfer window or at the end of the season. Internazionale are also thought to be interested.
20 February 2009 - Joorabchian openly invites offers from clubs with United still refusing to make a permanent bid: "Carlos is in the market now that United have not made any move for him. We are now studying other options and interested parties."
22 April 2009 - Tevez hints that he will leave because he is not playing enough big games: "I have not played in important matches. The 'clasico' against Chelsea I did not play. Those are the games that I like to play in."
24 April 2009 - Ferguson insists United want Tevez to stay: "I think he genuinely wants to stay here and that is something we are trying to work towards. I have told him that repeatedly. And there is not much more I can do."
10 May 2009 - Tevez says he expects to leave the club, who he feels have treated him badly: "I don't think I will be a Manchester United player next season. I do not feel wanted. I feel bad over my situation. I do, but it's very, very difficult to stay any longer. I guess what I'm saying is goodbye."

Sky Sports News reports that Tevez will not sign for Liverpool because of their rivalry with United.
June 20 - United confirm that Tevez will not stay at Old Trafford despite being offered a five-year contract. The club say they agreed a £25.5m fee with MSI but Tevez rejected the contract.
June 25 - Kia Joorabcian says a decision on Tevez's future will be made within 10 days, indicating that Manchester City is the most likely destinantion. "City is a club with most of the chances because they are building a big squad, but it is not a decisive point," he says.
June 26 - The Sun claim that Tevez will go to City after it is revealed that his four-year-old daughter, Florencia, has been enrolled at a Manchester private school.

I cannot wait to welcome him to City."

It serves Man utd. right for snubbing Tevez for over year and half! He can readily find any top football club to play for with his abilities.
Why Man. Utd. not offer better amount than that ? Yeah, club treated him and they know others clubs are willing to pay him always higher than Man. Utd. so its Sir Alex fault, he didn't recognize him that he was a big asset for club. Its hurt as being a Red Devils big fan but now time is gone already.......shitttttttttt.....
I guess many of you need glasses to read. You will that the poor Tevez waited for a year and half for a contract to be signed. Nobody did anything, papa came on air to lie to the people even when nobody had offered him any type of contract or discussion of any form. And yet u still want him to remain in MU no that MU has lost CR, no way. Lick your wounds MU bc you cannot eat ur cake and have it. Sol.
86 - Tevez is class anda hard worker
he doesn't run aimlessly around the pitch after the ball

Tesmond.
after all the comments Tev made since may, I don't see why anyone should be surprised he's finally leaving.
teddywonder sillybilly
tevez running around alot does not make him world class, as good a team player as he is he's not a world class striker, sad to say but true.
don't know why your all arsed about the prem,,,, championship is best league in the world
From heldersmelder
'Why have you not already lined up a replacement if Fergie,
BECAUSE HE IS THE BEST THERE IS HOW MANY TEAMS HAVE HAD MORE THAN 1 NEW MANAGER SINCE FERGIE BECAME MANU MANAGER ?
raphael.cyrus
YOURE A JOKE!
stop slagging off Ronnie cos he left. he's a pillock but 42 goels in a season makes him the best midfielder (if not player) in the world. there is no two ways about it.
Heldersmelder you are talking out of your arse mate, you should definatly see a doctor about as people are gonna think your a wazzock. nip it in the bud eh!
Rhaphael, you should check liverpool's financial situation before commenting on uniteds.
Teves, Torres and Stevie G behind them
would make saf rednose turn blue !
berbatov was brought after 1 good season at trottenham
saf buys up players even if he does not need them, just to make sure that the rivals do not get anybody which is understandable, but how long can you leave 5 x £20,000,000 sit on the bench without somebody making some noise ...
sir alex keep on doing what you are doing soon you`ll be united with leeds in the 3rd div because you cannot play your bills... £ 700,000,000 in the red not liverpool but united should watchout that city do not start running
your town...
Who owns Tevez? Who influences his performances? Untill these issues are finally / legally thoroughly sorted out he should not play in the UK. Any past misdemeanours either by a club or its directors so discovered should be followed by an immediate points deduction for the relevant club for the relevant season. It's called Fair Play in Football, isn't it, Sweet London based / biased FA.
Football is kind of funny the best Man U defender Vidic and the best Man U striker Rooney. Have lower incomes than Rio and Berbatov
liverpool dont want him anyway.Owen can play better than him even with an injury.
Hahahaha Tevez and Ronaldo where the darlings of Man U last year you lot couldnt stop singing about them looool, U United fans make me laugh you used to sing a song about signing Tevez and not Torres he has and never will be a United player more chance of Tevez playing with Torres hahahaha Ronaldo has yet to sign for Madrid you lot are still paying his wages hahahaha, wouldnt it be funny if the deal fell through after weeks and weeks of discussions Madrid said no and he refused to play for United again.
Why have you not already lined up a replacement if Fergie new he was going 6 months ago, the quote about the Virus mob is so funny i still pmsl when I think about it, who are you lot going to buy when you cant afford Tevez ?
