We chart Carlos Tevez's time at Manchester United and all the major developments of his transfer saga.
31 August 2006 - Signs for West Ham from Corinthians in a controversial third-party deal from the MSI company that eventually leads to legal action and a £20 million settlement paid to Sheffield United, who were relegated at the end of the season. Fellow Argentine Javier Mascherano joins him.
10 August 2007 - After an epic transfer saga, joins Manchester United on a two-year loan from MSI.
26 July 2008 - MSI chief Kia Joorabchian says he is confident Tevez will sign permanently with United: "Manchester United have been fantastic with Carlos - he's very lucky to have them and they are lucky too because he's been very good for them. It looks like it should happen - but we don't know the timing, whether it will be a month, two or six."
17 October 2008 - Tevez denies reports he is unhappy at United, despite the club's reluctance to pay MSI's £30m asking price to make the transfer permanent.
13 November 2008 - Argentina boss Diego Maradona reveals Tevez is unhappy at losing his United place to new signing DimitarBerbatov: "Tevez is worried about not being in United's first choice team."
5 January 2009 - Tevez says he is unhappy with manager Alex Ferguson's handling of the situation and says he has not been offered a new contract: "I didn't like him (Ferguson) saying I didn't like the offer I was made because neither my agent nor me were given one. I want to stay but the club have not made any offer. I've been waiting for them for a year and a half."
January 2009 - Real Madrid are linked with a £25m bid for Tevez, either in the winter transfer window or at the end of the season. Internazionale are also thought to be interested.
20 February 2009 - Joorabchian openly invites offers from clubs with United still refusing to make a permanent bid: "Carlos is in the market now that United have not made any move for him. We are now studying other options and interested parties."
22 April 2009 - Tevez hints that he will leave because he is not playing enough big games: "I have not played in important matches. The 'clasico' against Chelsea I did not play. Those are the games that I like to play in."
24 April 2009 - Ferguson insists United want Tevez to stay: "I think he genuinely wants to stay here and that is something we are trying to work towards. I have told him that repeatedly. And there is not much more I can do."
10 May 2009 - Tevez says he expects to leave the club, who he feels have treated him badly: "I don't think I will be a Manchester United player next season. I do not feel wanted. I feel bad over my situation. I do, but it's very, very difficult to stay any longer. I guess what I'm saying is goodbye."

June 9, 2009 - Radio station TalkSport claim that Carlos Tevez has agreed to join Manchester City. No-one else has said it yet though.
June 15 - Despite Cristiano Ronaldo's record move to Madrid freeing up £80m for United, reports in England claim that Tevez will not stay even if they meet MSI's asking price. It seems the Argentine is tempted by Manchester City's offer of a guaranteed start and a bumper wage.

Sky Sports News reports that Tevez will not sign for Liverpool because of their rivalry with United.
June 20 - United confirm that Tevez will not stay at Old Trafford despite being offered a five-year contract. The club say they agreed a £25.5m fee with MSI but Tevez rejected the contract.
June 25 - Kia Joorabcian says a decision on Tevez's future will be made within 10 days, indicating that Manchester City is the most likely destinantion. "City is a club with most of the chances because they are building a big squad, but it is not a decisive point," he says.
June 26 - The Sun claim that Tevez will go to City after it is revealed that his four-year-old daughter, Florencia, has been enrolled at a Manchester private school.

I cannot wait to welcome him to City."

some of my fellow here make point out said tevez must stay and deserve wage that he wanted...come on people open ur eyes ..now united want to sign him but he make new demand while before this he only talk about contract...this thing happen before united close to sign him...can u imagine if we sign him?maybe he want more...and if united refuse, he started to play rubbish like he did when united reach semi FA cup and Final champ league..and i dont think he respect his manager SAF..
JOE E your bang on man, united play better without him, oh your not so bang on about his free kicks thou, granted he scores 1 or 2 beaut's, but how many does he waste before he gets it right.......which makes me think the ones he does get are just lucky? He's no Juninho thats for sure!
God knows where he will end up. Great player though.
and thank god ronaldo is going at last!!! i was sick of his moods and tantrums...and his lack of ability taking on players without having to kick the ball 10 yards iin front of him and then running after it! we need a player with good dribbling and close contact ball skills, and by that i dont mean swiping your foot over the ball continualy to try and make the player dizzy before running into the player and losing it!!!!..we will miss him for free kicks.peroid!!!
i agree ina...if the best players get the most wages, then it's defo rooney, vidic and tevez for there effort alone!
geek!! the city midfield might sound good, but it isn't!?!?!?!? i doubt that man utd won the league again because they sounded good?!?!? it is a matter of opinion whther or not your team has a good midfield, personaly, i think everyone that goes to that club goes down hill! a bit like spain's equivelant-real madrid!
pkw: too true
i don't understand how Ferdinand and Berbatov are the highest paid players in United??? Vidic and Rooney decerve more than them...Tevez must stay, even if Man United has to make him one of the highest paid players. he decerves it, just like a lot of them...UNITED FOREVER!!!
All this latest piece of news says to me is that Wayne Rooney needs a pay rise.
If you can come to chealsefc we need you there
how did berbatov end up as pne of the highest paid players at ManU????? What the!? He's good i like him even if he is a bit of a weird one, But how does he deserve that? Tevez should easily be paid more than Berb. But i wouldnt say tevez deserves to be the highest paid player in the squad either
1st time i read when he keep moaning at media take sympaty from fans and talk about how united tread him i started to hate him,cuz he have no recpect to SAF and united....even most of my fellow united fans love him...now we all know what he most wanted at united yea more money...not becuz he want to play at united..no wonder the discusion between Gill and his agent never ending...
Go to Chelsea tevez. please!!!!!!
the problem is, hes not worth £30m or £110,000.00 a week. and now we have seen the ugly side to his attitude (petulant and a tad greedy) he is worth even less. but he will be a danger if he signs for another team as he has the potential to cause problems and when on form score goals. ive always wanted him to stay despite the price tag, but if what we are reading is genuine and from the horses mouth, then im not so sure. look at the way Torres handled signing a new contract with liverpool - total class and respect for the club and himself. Utd have a history of signing these types of players and should continue to do so. Its bitter sweet to see CR7 head off to Spain, but its for the best for the club once the squad has been bolstered. Tevez should prehaps follow suit now too.
@#$% HIM..
come to liverpool and play everytime
come to liverpool and play everytime
get rid of tevez, all he's been doing is moaning about leaving united and how he's unappreciated. im tired of it. give berbatov another season to prove his worth. tevez is greedy, thats the bottom line. he wants more money. if i had to chose between berbatov and tevez, id take berbatov. he states over and over that he wants to play for united and took less money to play here instead of city. tevez wants to leave and get paid. let him go
m.fowler771 you a dumbass or what? no decent players at city other than barry? voiced by a truly ignorant manc prawn sandwich eater.
Robinho, Barry, Ireland, SWP.......not to mention the likes of petrov in reserve.
that sounds like a nifty midfield to me......to say the least.
im utd through and through, but i have to say fergies blown it on tevez, you cant blame him for wanting to go,hes scored some crucial goals for two seasons then loses his place to the lazy one, dont get me wrong berba a great player, but not sure he suits utd, where tevez surely does
