Colo Colo's Argentine coach Hugo Tocalli has come under fire for poor results in Chile and 46-year-old Anthony de Avila scored for America in a 3-1 win in Colombia.

ECUADOR

Another draw at home, 1-1 against Deportivo Cuenca, edged Barcelona closer to relegation. They are bottom of Group A in the second phase of the championship and can ill afford to drop more points.

The players say other teams raise their game against Barcelona, the country's biggest and most popular club.

"No one gifts you a point and all (the rivals) want to see Barcelona down," forward Pablo Palacios said.

CHILE

Colo Colo's under-fire Argentine coach Hugo Tocalli was saved from defeat by a stoppage-time equaliser from Paraguayan midfielder Jose Salcedo for a 1-1 draw with Union Espanola as fans were calling for his sacking.

About 100 fans had interrupted a Colo Colo training session last week to demand more commitment from Tocalli and his players.

Colo Colo, one of Chile's leading teams who have gone three matches without a win, are 10th with 12 points out of a possible 27.

Audax Italiano went top of the Clausura standings with 20 points after a 2-0 win over Municipal Iquique. Universidad Catolica are second on 19 after securing a 1-1 draw away to nine-man Everton with an 87th-minute equaliser by Rodrigo Toloza.

Everton had Uruguayan Nicolas Freitas sent off in the 71st minute for a second bookable offence and substitute Fernando Manriquez, 10 minutes after coming on, was shown a direct red card in the 85th for a tackle from behind.

VENEZUELA

Brazilian striker Flavio de Oliveira scored four goals, completing a hat-trick in the opening 36 minutes, as promoted Trujillanos crushed Carabobo 7-2 in the fifth round of the Apertura championship.

Deportivo Italia lead with 12 points from five matches after their 1-0 win over promoted Yaracuyanos, one point ahead of champions Caracas FC, Deportivo Tachira and Real Espor. Trujillanos are fifth with 10 points.

COLOMBIA

America's 46-year-old striker Anthony de Avila scored the opening goal in their 3-1 home win over Deportivo Cali on a day of derbies in Colombia's first division.

Independiente Medellin won their derby 3-1 against Atletico Nacional to go top of the Clausura standings with 18 points after nine matches.

Santa Fe won the Bogota derby 4-2 against Millonarios with Chilean striker Julio Gutierrez contributing two goals.

However, Santa Fe, who are second with 17 points, stand to lose three points over the incorrect registration of a player when they met Medellin in a previous match.

The game's ruling body Dimayor is expected to ratify a recent announcement that Medellin would be handed the points of the match they lost to Santa Fe.

Former leaders Atletico Huila lost for the second time in a row, 1-0 away to Deportes Tolima, and are third on 17 points.

URUGUAY

Former Penarol and Sevilla midfielder Pablo Bengoechea, who helped Uruguay win the Copa America in 1987 and 1995, is set to replace the sacked Julio Ribas as coach of Penarol following their 2-1 defeat at modest Racing.

Nacional, who beat Defensor Sporting 3-0 away, and Liverpool are top of the Apertura championship with nine points from three matches. Liverpool beat Danubio 1-0. Penarol have four points.

BOLIVIA

Clausura tournament Group A leaders Bolivar, who drew 0-0 away to Universitario, and second-placed Blooming have secured their places in the six-team title-deciding round with one game to go.

So have Group B leaders Real Potosi and second-placed The Strongest, who sealed the surprise elimination of La Paz with their 3-2 victory.

PARAGUAY

Champions Cerro Porteno were upset 2-0 at home by Sportivo Luqueno, while Libertad won their derby against Olimpia 2-0 away to snatch the lead in the Clausura championship with 17 points from eight matches. Cerro have seven points.

PERU

Juan Aurich beat Cesar Vallejo 2-1 with two goals from Sergio Ibarra and lead Group A at the start of the second phase of the championship, while Universitario top Group B after a 0-0 draw with Bolognesi.
