Aberdeen youngster Peter Pawlett hit the crossbar as Falkirk survived some late pressure to claim their first SPL point with a goalless draw at Falkirk Stadium

Jamie Langfield's superb second-half save from a Kjartan Finnbogason header ensured Aberdeen's third successive clean sheet and Pawlett curled against the crossbar from 20 yards as the visitors burst into life in the closing stages.

Both managers handed first SPL starts to 20-year-old attackers but their teams failed to make the breakthrough despite creating several first-half chances.

Falkirk, who announced just before kick-off that on-loan Liverpool winger Ryan Flynn had agreed a three-year contract, had lost their previous three SPL games and this was their first clean sheet.

Mark McGhee's (pictured) side are sixth in the table.
