Gabulov, Russia's second-choice keeper behind Igor Akinfeyev, was injured when he collided with Spartak's Brazilian striker Welliton in the first half of the tense encounter which ended 1-1.

"Doctors told me it would take at least two months for the bone to heal so the season is practically over for me," Gabulov said.

He will miss the end of the Russian Premier League season and his national team's vital World Cup qualifier against Germany on October 14.
