American Dave Zabriskie won the Tour of Missouri, the first title of his 11-year professional career.
Garmin rider Zabriskie had a 30-second margin over Sweden's Gustav Larsson.
Italian Marco Pinotti moved ahead of American Tom Zirbel with a mid-race sprint bonus in the final stage and finished third overall, trailing Zabriskie by 42 seconds.
Canadian Martin Gilbert won the seventh and final stage.
Zabriskie, a former Tour de France race leader and stage winner in each of cycling's grand tours, took the yellow jersey on Friday's fifth stage when he won the individual time trial.
"The final two days showed why they call it (cycling) a team sport," said Zabriskie, whose best previous finish was second at the Tour of California in February. "The team was prepared and we knew what was coming."
