Hull boss Phil Brown is aware that the gap left by defender Michael Turner`s move to Sunderland will take some plugging.
Brown admitted when he agreed to sell Turner that the offer had just been too good to refuse.
Turner put in a faultless display on his Black Cats debut against his former club, and Brown said: "Michael played something like 91 consecutive games for us, which is a hell of a record. He never missed a minute.
"Yes, he will take some replacing, but that's our job. We had Kamil Zayatte and Ibrahima Sonko at Sunderland, a new partnership, and it showed they need work on the training ground.
"We have got a lot of work to do, but we never shirk responsibility where that's concerned."

i think brown has been forced to sell...
unfortunately swapping turner for mcshane is suicide.
mcshane is a trier god bless him but he struggles against any movement.
i hope hull stay up as at least they play some footy and have good fans
rather than say bully boys bolton or blackburn ....

Bent was brilliant, as was Reid and of course Turner, who played out of his skin! We're so glad you bought McShambes (who really is @#$%). He never looked Pre quality in a red and white shirt. Believe me, you came up against 'a (better than) decent team' on Saturday, and in the end the score flattered you, not us!
Malcolm D-- You may be right about McShane and you are definately right about Kilbane who makes too many basic mistakes and is not Premier material.
You got a hell of a bargain with Turner who will not let you down.
Bruce is a canny boss and will make Turner an even better player.
Hull City are struggling at the moment but we must soldier on , even with Brown in charge.

Dont understand how you can say S/land are a **** team when our position in the league is a darn sight higher than yours and we have better players than you.

I noticed Mr Brown at the Birmingham V Villa game, was he there to learn how to organize a defence. Why sell Turner. The biggest mistake ever.
It's time Mr Brown started doing the job he's paid to do he's just had two weeks to train the defence now the Tigers have lost 4/1 to what is basically a @#$% team god help them when they come up against a decent team either buck up Brown or make way for a decent manager we're fed up with your lame excuses

The lad was playing well for the Tigers and DID NOT have his head turned by Sunderland as Brown suggests.
He had just signed a 4 year contract for goodness sake and the club could have got at least £8 million
£6 million for a player of his quality was stupid and relacing him with Sonko the Donko is just too daft to believe.
