Darren Byfield is determined to stay on the goal trail after opening his account for Walsall at the weekend.

The much-travelled striker found the net for the first time since he returned to the club in Saturday`s 3-2 win over Tranmere.

"It was a big thing for me and I`m glad to get off the mark," he said.

"As a striker you do start getting worried about the goals drying up but now I`ve got one, I`ll be looking to kick on from here.

"Hopefully we`ve given the fans something to cheer about and we can build on that result."
