Swindon goalkeeper David Lucas is hoping to shake off an injury sustained in Saturday's warm-up in time for next weekend's clash at Walsall.

Lucas, a summer signing from Leeds, was replaced in the starting line-up for the 1-1 home draw with Colchester by Phil Smith.

Robins physio Dick Mackey said: "David injured himself while diving for a ball during the warm-up and was assisted off the field with medial ligament pain.

"The problem, pending the scan, seems to have settled down very well over the weekend and after a walk at the training ground we will later be going for a bike ride and swim.

"David will have his scan results on Tuesday and if positive he could make a quick recovery - possibly for the weekend's game."
