Parry wait for North End

Preston boss Alan Irvine will assess the fitness of midfielder Paul Parry ahead of the trip to Scunthorpe.

The summer signing from Cardiff was withdrawn during the second half of Saturday's 2-0 home win over Swansea with a suspected hamstring injury.

He was replaced by Chris Sedgwick, who is now on stand-by to deputise from the start at Glanford Park.

French defender Youl Mawene has missed the last five games with a hamstring injury and, although well on the road to recovery, is unlikely to dislodge Liam Chilvers.

Chilvers has forged an impressive partnership with Sean St Ledger, who is attracting strong interest from Middlesbrough, and helped North End to remain unbeaten so far this season.

Left-back Callum Davidson is ruled out for several weeks with a torn hamstring and Barry Nicholson remains a long-term absentee with a broken leg.
