Rafael Benitez hailed the contribution of hat-trick hero Yossi Benayoun after Liverpool's 4-0 demolition of Barclays Premier League new boys Burnley.
Benayoun was at the heart of a dominant Reds display, scoring in the first half and then having an effort palmed out by Brian Jensen for Dirk Kuyt to add the second. The Israel skipper then took advantage of great passes by first Steven Gerrard and then Andriy Voronin to grab two more goals after the break to cap a virtuoso display.
Liverpool boss Benitez said: "Yossi had been away on international duty in midweek and done a lot of travelling, but he wanted to play. It is important to him to show his quality in every training session and every match."
He added: "Over the seasons he has shown his value coming off the bench, but now he is showing how important he can be with movement and passing ability from the start."
Benitez also revealed midfielder Javier Mascherano has yet to return from international duty with Argentina having picked up a pelvic injury in midweek.
It was initially believed he had just returned late, but Benitez said: "He has still not returned. He picked up an injury and it was decided that he needed to have tests.
"Our doctor was in contact with the Argentina medical team and it was decided it was best that he stay there for the tests, and he will be back in England next week before the Champions League game (against Debrecen).
"The problem was a minor one, but we needed to have the checks made straight away."

SCHOLES, GIGGS, THAT GORMLESS KEEPER, AND THE INCONTINENT SPAM FACED SENILE SWEATY SOCK, WILL RETIRE AT THE END OF THE SEASON DUE TO CITY BECOMMING THE BIGGEST AND BEST CLUB IN MANC. MANURE WILL REPLACE THEM WITH RUEL FOX, PERRY SUCKLING AND FRANK SIDEBOTTOM.(MANAGER)- THE WAY YOU ALL SING THE SCOUSERS NAME...........ROONEA......ROONEA... SAD @#$%.
It would appear that the "Fat Spanish Waiter" was far too interested in his meager tips than the Liverpool team.
How can ANY proffesional manager mismanage his players so badly.
Then suddenly discover what has been under his nose for two years!
Sorry Liverpool but Rafa stinks!
Well done Yossi..
chrismanunited4life, or whatever your name is, no one gives a @#$% about anything you've got to say - you're just another scum bag that gives the English people a bad name. Why don't you write your s#h#i#t on the Man United pages? Scum. And if you're such a big Man United fan - why have you got a Real Madrid player on your profile picture???
Benayoun the best....!!! Manchester United the WORST !!!!!!

Chrls79M'UTD4life,
No need for all your bull s h !t, just one very important fact for you,
"Liverpool, England's most successful club with 18 League titles and five European Cup triumphs,"
so when your team has reached this landmark then you can call them the best !
Jealousy just makes you green !
Resentdtox, as it happens none of those things are a worry to any Man U fan. You see, we keep winning things and that means we are happy all the time. How happy have Liverpool fans been over the last 20 years or so. That's why you were on a page about Man U, you went to see what it's like to be a fan of a successful club, Liverpool fans can't remember that far back. What kind of great club is it that hasn't won it's national league for 20 years? In that time Chelsea have won it, Arsenal, and even Blackburn. Then of course Man U nearly own it they've won it so many times.
This is not a Liverpool FANS page you idiot. It is a news article about Liverpool. It's like saying if The Sun wrote an article about Liverpool it would be a Liverpool Fans newspaper. If you want a Liverpool fans page go to a Liverpool supporters web.site. This is a general sport news service. Another thick scouser
Chrls79M'UTD4life - get a life you pathetic sad amoeba

comment 7 - is that a joke or are you actually serious? Your comment is ridicilous
its all a load of rubbish
did he score twice in the 4-4 draw against arsenal (not a small side!) i think did, in the last few months of last season good old old yossi was scoring every other game, he is so underated anyone thinks different needs to look at his stats.
Chrls79M'UTD4life, you forgot the most important one of all – SAF – Sheethead of the Century (together with the MANure team).
