La Liga - Ozil dreaming of Barcelona move

Werder Bremen midfielder Mesut Ozil has revealed his dream would be to play for Barcelona.

The highly-rated Germany international's future has been the subject of much speculation with a number of Europe's biggest clubs reportedly interested in acquiring his services.

Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Manchester City are all believed to be tracking the talented 20-year-old.

And his comments are sure to prick the interest of the current European and Spanish champions.

Ozil told Bild: "I have been a fan of Barcelona ever since I was a little boy.

"I can't describe what it is, but the team just fascinates me. They have always had world-class players such as Rivaldo and (Luis) Figo in their team.

"Nevertheless, Barcelona are not an option for me at the moment," he added.

"Wearing the Barca jersey is a dream, but I still have a lot to learn and I have to work hard before I'm ready for it.

"Bayern Munich is not an option for me. I don't even think about something like that at the moment.

"I'm really happy at Werder Bremen and still have plenty of things to achieve here."

  1. Come to Man Utd. You surely can make an impact in Man­ United. You can be the dangerous three along with­ Rooney and Berbatov. Berba can perform his brilliant­ form in Tottenham then. Fletcher can be more dangerous­ than usual. Giggs would deliever dangerous set pieces­ and Sir Alex Ferguson should sell Nani. Anderson can­ also pair with Ozil.

  4. I really wanted him at chelsea. Ive spoke about him for­ about a year now and no one listened. He'd work­ perfect at the front oint of our diamond midfield. he­ would be breaty for batca if they dont get robinho as­ well though.

    I still feel he's a better player­ through the middle though than out to the left so­ better at chelsea!

  5. he is good talented and very young @ just 20 years
    but­ the question is why barca want ozile, cesc and­ robinho?
    i think its three things that force them for­ this
    1___ they are trying to be like madrid or feeling­ the pressure from liga teams like seville, madrid and­ valencia (barca knows that to be liga champions again­ they have to be better than those teams)
    2___ its­ election year and every candidate is promesing the fans­ to bring this and that to be elected
    3___ its all about­ the media,,,,,the jornalist are making stories from­ nothing to be busy.
