League Two - Eriksson denies offers

Sven-Goran Eriksson has confirmed he has received no offers from North Korea or Sweden to coach their respective national sides.

Reports on Wednesday morning suggested the Notts County director of football had turned down an approach from the North Korean Football Association to manage the Asian country at next summer's World Cup finals in South Africa.

The League Two club issued a statement to deny the approach while, earlier this week, Eriksson was linked with the soon-to-be vacant position of Sweden's national coach.

Current coach Lars Lagerback, who has led the Scandinavians to the last five major tournaments, is set to quit following a disastrous World Cup qualifying campaign and Eriksson is the overwhelming favourite for the job in newspaper polls back in his homeland. However, the 61-year-old insists he has received no such offers and is 100 per cent committed to Notts County.

Asked if he had an offer from North Korea, Eriksson said: "No, and since Saturday also Sweden. There have been a lot of rumours but I don't have an offer or plans to be manager or whatever for North Korea, absolutely not."

Questioned on if he was going to remain at Meadow Lane, the Swede added: "Of course, absolutely."
