Premier League - Harry: No Spurs bid for Muntari

Eurosport - Wed, 14 Oct 14:25:00 2009

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has played down talk of a move for Internazionale midfielder Sulley Muntari.

FOOTBALL 2008/09 Serie A Inter's Muntari celebrates winner against Juventus - 0

The Ghana midfielder earned a move to Serie A champions Inter on the back of some stellar displays for Portsmouth, having been brought to Fratton Park by Redknapp.

Muntari has been repeatedly linked with a return to England and although Redknapp holds the midfielder in high esteem, the Spurs chief says no bid is in the pipeline.

"I've never made an enquiry about Sulley," said Redknapp. "I like Sulley, he was a terrific player for me at Portsmouth.

"I remember that day when he scored two at Villa, that day when he went there and played fantastic.

"Sulley is a top player but I've not spoken to Jose Mourinho about him."

Rumours of player exits from White Hart Lane have been doing the rounds, but Redknapp says he knows nothing about a move to Zenit St Petersburg for Roman Pavlyuchenko.

The Russian forward is behind Jermain Defoe, Peter Crouch and Robbie Keane in the pecking order and his agent says a deal has been agreed, but Redknapp is keen to keep his four strikers at the club.

"I don't get involved in agreeing deals," he added. "If someone spoke to the chairman that's different, but the chairman would have told me.

"If there is any negotiations anyway that's above my head. As far as I know Daniel (Levy) has never rung me and spoke about Pav going and he would have done.

"He's a good player Pav and I do feel sorry for him. It's just we've three players this season who've all scored hat-tricks - Keano, Crouchy and Jermaine Defoe.

"It's been hard for him but he's a good player and I like him very much. I really don't want to lose him."

  8. Considering the corruption in business and local government in uk people need to consider looking at those groups first before looking at harry situations as for Liverpool fan he need to be concerned that club like Liverpool has 58 professional on book and only 4-5 good players let’s treat football like any-other business let businesses get on with it only get involved if club in financial difficulty or gearing too high ie Liverpool , Chelsea and Manchester united

Tommy I am a Liverpool fan mate. And before you start I am aware of the recent embarrassment of the public feuding etc and yanks dragging the club into debt. What bothers me about 'Arry is the general skullduggery he is involved in at every turn. 134 transfers in 7 years at West Ham says it all really. Accrinton Stanley need £325,000 to stay in busines, Arry probably made this from a couple of those transfers alone. Allegedly of course.
