Tottenham are ready to use Roman Pavlyuchenko as bait in a bid to finally bring Klass-Jan Huntelaar to White Hart Lane.

Huntelaar was targeted by Harry Redknapp over the summer but the Dutch striker moved to Milan after failing to agree wages with the London club.

Since moving to Italy the 26-year-old has struggled for form and he could be sold in January with Rossoneri boss Leonardo looking to freshen up his squad.

And the Daily Mirror claims that Pavlyuchenko could be the man to add a bit of impetus to Milan's faltering season, despite having played just 11 minutes of football for Spurs this season.

But it is a different story in The Times, in which a source claims Sven rejected the North Korean offer.

And finally, Fabio Capello has vetoed John Terry's request that all 55 of the Italian's call-ups do a lap of honour after tonight's final World Cup qualifier.

"I'd like everyone to go around the pitch with us after the game. They've all played a part," said JT in The Sun.

But party pooper Capello said: "There is nothing to celebrate yet, this is just one game. On the pitch? No."

  3. Akinfeev will not be joining Man U, not now, not in the­ future. Stick to your Ben Floster. Now Milan must be­ nawts, They are probably working with Real to ruin­ Huntelaar's career, don't know why he­ didn't just go to Stuttgart or why Wenger­ didn't bail him out....way better than Bendtner if­ given half the chance, but i suppose Bendtner is­ working his tail off and moving the ball well,­ something i don't think Hunt can do, he is a goal­ poacher, but can benefit from Arsenal's mid field.­ I think David James should move to one of the original­ top 4, but i don't see a space for him in Liverpool­ or Chelsea, so maybe Man U or Arsenal, but he is­ getting too old, maybe Arsenal..and if the Spurs want­ him, i guess, not a bad place to jump start. Barca­ should do no business with Man City, Puyols and­ Abidal?? no way, Robinho is overrated. Pav needs to­ play else where, and needs to do it asap. Finally, John­ Terry is a goat! I dont know what Milan are playing at. they finally­ bought a dcent player who can score and are deciding­ they no longer want him withut playing him and are­ desiding to go for a non CL place bench warmer from the­ premiership. Milans problems are the manager who­ clearly isnt good enough for a team that size! Milan­ need to look at who they are and start signing top­ players again and playing them. Ronaldinho does­ brilliant when he plays then gets left out the side­ again. Pavlyuchenko was never a top player and aint­ good enough for Milan where as I was never convinved­ with Huntelaar because of where he played but he scored­ for real and Im not sure why they got rid. He'd do­ great for Milan if they played him as well

    Capello has got it right, England have won NOTHING­ yet. They have done their job well and qualified for­ the World Cup, albiet with style. Capello is great news­ for England. He can only improve , not just the­ play..but the mentality of the team. I suppose next­ Terry will want a bonus for turning up for training!! ­ The time to celebrate is when they return to the UK­ with the World Cup, then ALL 55 can celebrate, ­ together with the whole country.

    It's almost as if­ Terry is saying," ...well, we've done our bit­ now and don't have much more to do, it doesn't­ matter if we don't win it. if we get to the­ semi's this time, that'll do!.."

    The work really­ starts in S.Africa, we have to qualify from our Group­ and then through the knockout's and Capello is the­ man, I am convinced, who can lead us to our second­ World Cup.

  15. No point in Man U signing David James when they could­ just keep van der Saar for another season and be better­ off for it - Akinfeev could be an interesting long term­ prospect, though maybe they should poach Joe Hart­ instead and groom a future England goalkeeper
