Tottenham are ready to use Roman Pavlyuchenko as bait in a bid to finally bring Klass-Jan Huntelaar to White Hart Lane.
Huntelaar was targeted by Harry Redknapp over the summer but the Dutch striker moved to Milan after failing to agree wages with the London club.
Since moving to Italy the 26-year-old has struggled for form and he could be sold in January with Rossoneri boss Leonardo looking to freshen up his squad.
And the Daily Mirror claims that Pavlyuchenko could be the man to add a bit of impetus to Milan's faltering season, despite having played just 11 minutes of football for Spurs this season.
Manchester City forward Robinho will ask for a move elsewhere in January if he fails to win back a place in the Mark Hughes's starting XI, says The Sun.
The Brazilian is on the road to recovery after an ankle injury but with Craig Bellamy on such good form, he may not automatically go straight back into the side. Robinho's destination of choice? Barcelona. Of course.
Meanwhile The Times claims that Hughes would be willing to sell Robinho should his departure pave the way for the signings of Carles Puyol or Eric Abidal, the Barca defenders. Hughes is also is big fan of Yaya Toure.
Brede Hangeland is set to end speculation he will leave Fulham for Arsenal by penning a bumper £10m contract with the Cottagers. But Fulham will not make a January bid for Emile Heskey, the wantaway Aston Villa striker (The Sun).
Wigan may however go for Heskey, with Latics chairman Dave Whelan saying the England man would be welcome back at the DW Stadium (The Independent).
Portsmouth are standing firm over David James, who has been linked with a January move to Manchester United and Tottenham. Pompey chief executive Peter Storrie said: "David is under contract. He is going absolutely nowhere." (Daily Express).
Blackburn and Sunderland are set to fight it out over Sweden starlet Marcus Pedersen, 19, who is rated at around £2 million (The Sun).
In the day's most bizarre news, Sven-Goran Eriksson is being lined up to manage North Korea at next summer's World Cup finals.
The former England boss will head to Asia with Notts County executive chairman Paul Trembling later in the week to hold talks over a loan deal from his role as County's director of football (The Guardian).
But it is a different story in The Times, in which a source claims Sven rejected the North Korean offer.
And finally, Fabio Capello has vetoed John Terry's request that all 55 of the Italian's call-ups do a lap of honour after tonight's final World Cup qualifier.
"I'd like everyone to go around the pitch with us after the game. They've all played a part," said JT in The Sun.
But party pooper Capello said: "There is nothing to celebrate yet, this is just one game. On the pitch? No."

DALE A . R U ON THE FUNNY @#$%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
DOES HUNTELAAR WANT PLAY FOR A SECOND RATE CLUB LIKE SPURS !!!!!! THEY HAVE NO CLASS!!
Akinfeev will not be joining Man U, not now, not in the future. Stick to your Ben Floster. Now Milan must be nawts, They are probably working with Real to ruin Huntelaar's career, don't know why he didn't just go to Stuttgart or why Wenger didn't bail him out....way better than Bendtner if given half the chance, but i suppose Bendtner is working his tail off and moving the ball well, something i don't think Hunt can do, he is a goal poacher, but can benefit from Arsenal's mid field. I think David James should move to one of the original top 4, but i don't see a space for him in Liverpool or Chelsea, so maybe Man U or Arsenal, but he is getting too old, maybe Arsenal..and if the Spurs want him, i guess, not a bad place to jump start. Barca should do no business with Man City, Puyols and Abidal?? no way, Robinho is overrated. Pav needs to play else where, and needs to do it asap. Finally, John Terry is a goat! He shouldn't be captain, he runs his mouth a lil too much and likes to basque in glory with little work done, the journey just began, no need to celebrate cause you qualified, that should be the bare minimum expectation, England should've been qualifying everytime like Brazil, I guess when you are under archievers internationally that's the best thing to do when you finally make small strides.
dwadsley keep dreaming buddy, top 4 my left nawt. Toot-n-ham is not top 4 quality, enjoy 7 place at most.
Man City already have many defenders, why must buy and Syvinho haven't play for City yet.
p18 can u read you must be a gooner ,i put the other top 4 teams meaning who is there now and spurs could be a top 4 team if we can stop losing to the top 4 . and that we could end up in the top 4 at one of there expenses hopefully arsenals has that would be awesome for spurs fans worldwide m8
Post 17 - what do you mean "other to 4 teams" when is the last time Spurs were a top four team? You have got to finish there to be a top 4 team, otherwise Hull can class themselves as a top 4 team!
come on spurs stop buying multi million pound bench warming strikers and get us some solid defenders we are going to use spend the cash from pavs sale if he ends up going and get what we need : defence sell jenas aswell top 4 is ours for the taking if we can just stop losing to the other top 4 teams so coys !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I dont know what Milan are playing at. they finally bought a dcent player who can score and are deciding they no longer want him withut playing him and are desiding to go for a non CL place bench warmer from the premiership. Milans problems are the manager who clearly isnt good enough for a team that size! Milan need to look at who they are and start signing top players again and playing them. Ronaldinho does brilliant when he plays then gets left out the side again. Pavlyuchenko was never a top player and aint good enough for Milan where as I was never convinved with Huntelaar because of where he played but he scored for real and Im not sure why they got rid. He'd do great for Milan if they played him as well
Why does 'arry want Huntelaar.... he doesn't need ANOTHER 20 million pound sitting on the bench, rather buy another Central defender to take the pressure off Cudicini (Gomes)... He certainly doesn't nee a 40 yr old Calamity Keeper

'arry must sell Pavlychencko and Bentley to Serie A sides.... If he sells them to EPL sides they will both be match winners, just like Darren Bent .... Don't know why 'arry doesn't rotate them with Keane (Crouch) and Palacios
Dessy, Milan is AC Milan and Inter is Internazionale/Inter Milan. It can get confusing if you don't know.
Who does Terry think he is? The footballers mentality never ceases to amaze me!!
Capello has got it right, England have won NOTHING yet. They have done their job well and qualified for the World Cup, albiet with style. Capello is great news for England. He can only improve , not just the play..but the mentality of the team. I suppose next Terry will want a bonus for turning up for training!! The time to celebrate is when they return to the UK with the World Cup, then ALL 55 can celebrate, together with the whole country.
It's almost as if Terry is saying," ...well, we've done our bit now and don't have much more to do, it doesn't matter if we don't win it. if we get to the semi's this time, that'll do!.."
NO IT WON'T!! We want to be the World Champs and the only way we can be is to change the mindset of players like Terry....our captain for gawds sake!
The work really starts in S.Africa, we have to qualify from our Group and then through the knockout's and Capello is the man, I am convinced, who can lead us to our second World Cup.
Dessy, when they say Milan they mean AC Milan, when they say Inter they mean Inter Milano... Milano is the city and only one team has this name. I would recommend you to increase your knowledge on football before adding comments. You are not different from all the other spammers with PS3 and horse stuff!!!GGMU
No point in Man U signing David James when they could just keep van der Saar for another season and be better off for it - Akinfeev could be an interesting long term prospect, though maybe they should poach Joe Hart instead and groom a future England goalkeeper
so when they say Millan, which Millan are they talking about? Ac Millan? Inter Millan? what millan are you talking about here because its not everyone that knows exactly where every player plays!
Pav shouldn't move to Milan...rather Fulham or Bolton...Akinfeev will be bought by MU next summer, so the rumours about James are rubbish:)
veto power! I love it....wait till you win the world cup then you can celebrate all you want Terry
no first losers today! What is this David James going to MU - I don't believe we need a 40 year old keeper! Fergie sign Akinfeev from CSKA Moscow, he is 24 and we definetely need a new keeper!GGMU
