Ellington prepared for exit

Watford striker Nathan Ellington expects to leave Vicarage Road in the near future.

The Hornets have been slashing their wage bill all summer with Tommy Smith, Jobi McAnuff, Tamas Priskin and Mike Williamson all moving on.

And as one of the higher earners remaining at the club Ellington, a £3.25million signing from West Brom in 2007, knows he is likely to follow them out of the exit door.

"The circumstances that I find myself in, and that the club is in, I think it's actually best that I will end up moving pretty soon," Ellington told Sky Sports News.

"I'm very happy at the club - the training facilities, everything is good. The manager is happy with me, the chairman. The fans are great as well. Everything is great at the club.

"It's just the circumstances that we're in at the moment. I think it's best that I end up having to move on."
