Rangers assistant manager Ally McCoist has revealed Kenny Miller is in good form following his visit to a specialist in Germany last week.

The striker has been hampered by a persistent hamstring injury and sought the advice of an expert in a bid to get to the bottom of the problem. He will continue to receive treatment but was back in training at Murray Park.

"Kenny is fine. He was over in Germany seeing the specialist and came back and trained well yesterday and will do the same again today," said McCoist on Tuesday.

"He is in good form and looks fine.

"It's pretty much an ongoing thing but he is happy with the treatment he is receiving from the lad in Germany."

McCoist believes a gruelling run of games for both club and country was at the root of Miller's most recent injury problems.

He added: "To be honest, when you look at Kenny's performances in the Scotland games, they maybe just knocked a little bit of the stuffing out of him.

"I know better than anybody that it's a tough job playing up front for your country and he maybe suffered a little bit from fatigue.

"He got the rest and we saw his performance against Celtic.

"Maybe that's something we will have to think of in the future in terms of just looking after him a little bit and treading carefully with him in terms of his training and games."
