Former world number one Ana Ivanovic breezed into the quarter-finals of WTA Linz with a 6-3 6-2 victory over Barbora Zahlavova Strycov.
Ivanovic tormented her opponent on her serve as she earned 15 break points against the Czech, though Zahlavova dug in to save 11 of them.
The Serbian will face Julia Goerges in the quarter-finals after the German thrashed fifth seed Petra Kvitova 6-2 6-1.
There was disappointment for home crowd favourite Sybille Bammer, who was knocked out in straight sets by Greek qualifier Eleni Daniilidou.
Bammer, who was born and still lives in Linz, had her serve taken to pieces by the world number 204 in a one-sided first set, and though she fought back in the second she ended up losing 6-1 7-6(2).
