The ex-England midfielder's stock has become high since his move into management, after keeping strugglers Macclesfield in the Football League and then taking MK Dons to the top of League Two this season.

However, despite his name being linked with both the lucrative Premier League hotseat at Wigan and the newly vacant position at Championship club Preston, Ince says he remains focussed on the job in hand.

He said: "I want to make a name for myself at MK Dons. I've been given a great chance by the chairman here.

"When I see the players playing the way they are, the spirit and the togetherness we've got at this club, the passion of the chairman and where we want to go with this club - why would you want to move?

"We're here for the long term, we've got a long-term plan and we want to take this club where we think it belongs.

"Winning games like at Bournemouth and the ones we've got in the coming weeks gives us half a chance of getting there."

Ince is the latest manager to rule himself out of the running, after former boss Paul Jewell announced he would not be returning to the helm at the JJB Stadium.
