BMW team Germany's Augusto Farfus posted the fastest lap in the test session for the FIA World Touring Car Championship finale at Macau's Guia circuit.
With a lap of 2:33.624 in the dying seconds, the Brazilian driver emerged on top, beating James Thompson's Honda and Nicola Larini's Chevrolet by eight and 16 hundredths of a second respectively.
The session was red-flagged after only four minutes when Jaap van Lagen lost control and crashed his LADA at the 'R' bend on his first lap out of the pits.
As soon as the test resumed, Yvan Muller posted a lap of 2:35.117 that stood as the fastest until halfway, when times began to drop dramatically.
The fastest lap was then improved seven times, with Thompson, Farfus, Gabriele Tarquini, Muller and Felix Porteiro taking turns on top of the classification.
Porteiro was the first driver to break the 2:34 barrier, completing a lap in 2:33.815 with only two minutes left.
However, during the last 60 seconds, he was demoted to fourth as Farfus, Thompson and Larini crossed the line.
The top 12 were covered by only eight tenths of a second.
Sergio Hernandez topped the independents, setting the 16th fastest lap overall, only one tenth faster than Franz Engstler, while local hero Andre Couto set the 18th best lap on his first outing in the N.Technology Honda Accord.

LADA!!! really it has to be the joke of the season. Yes, new manufacturers are always welcomed and needed, but could we have one that isnt quite so ridiculous.
Andy - give em a show to end off the season. And better luck next season - how about having a diesel Beemer? - Alpina just produced one - why dont you go steal one?
