World champions Jessica Ennis and Phillips Idowu have picked up the top awards at the British Athletics Writers' Association's 47th Annual Dinner.
Ennis, who won heptathlon gold in Berlin, and Idowu, who claimed the triple jump title, convincingly topped the poll of the BAWA's membership.
Idowu also won the men's award last year following his silver medal at the Olympics.
Ennis won the award for the first time after her breakthrough victory in Berlin, which established the 23-year old from Sheffield as one of the hottest home prospects for gold at London 2012.
Jodie Williams, 16, was named junior female athlete of the year, following her sprint double at the World Youth Championships.
Lawrence Clarke, who won the 110m hurdles at the European Junior Championships in Serbia this summer and break Colin Jackson's long standing junior British record, won the male prize.
