Aidy hopes to have Shittu back

Fri 14 Dec, 12:15 PM

Adrian Boothroyd is hoping to have colossal defender Danny Shittu back in his side as Watford seek a return to winning ways against Plymouth.Shittu missed the 0-0 draw at Stoke last weekend with a knee injury but is back in contention and should replace veteran Matt Jackson.

Jay DeMerit will continue to captain the side as Gavin Mahon looks set to remain out in the cold, with Republic of Ireland Under-21 international John-Joe O'Toole and Lee Williamson keeping their places in central midfield.

Striker Darius Henderson was left out of the 16 to face Stoke and will definitely miss out again as he serves a one-match suspension after collecting his fifth booking of the season in the win at Colchester.

That will see Tamas Priskin partner Marlon King in attack while Richard Lee will again start in goal as Mart Poom continues his recovery from a groin injury.

Gareth Williams (knee ligaments) is out until the New Year, Al Bangura (broken arm) has been ordered to return to his native Sierra Leone and Jordan Parkes (broken metatarsal) is also a long-term absentee.
