Team KR have been included on next season's Moto GP entry list, despite having no riders or engines confirmed.
The sport's governing body the FIM unveiled the full 20-bike entry, which showed two slots allocated to three-time world champion Kenny Roberts' British-based team.
There was however, no confirmation of what machines they would enter or who would ride them.
Since splitting with Proton acrimoniously mid-way through 2005, KR have done things their own way, with only a Honda engine supply, which guided them to two podiums with Kenny Roberts Jr on board.
This year was a different story though with budget problems and a lack of power, not to mention Kenny Jr's replacement mid-season by his brother Kurtis, hampering their progress
A similar deal with Ducati appears to be their only chance of survival with less than three months to go before the season starts, however it is believed that they are still some way off finding the finances to fund such a deal.
