Moore worried by Tranmere display

Sun 14 Dec, 04:15 PM

Tranmere manager Ronnie Moore admitted that his side's poor performance during the 2-0 defeat at Bristol Rovers is a cause for concern.Jo Kuffour put Bristol Rovers ahead with a cheeky close-range backheel from Craig Disley's low cross after 41 minutes. Chris Lines ensured his side's run of five League One games without a win ended by driving through the middle of Tranmere's defence five minutes after the break before finishing with a low shot.

Even a half-time rollicking from Moore failed to inspire the visitors, who failed to seriously test Pirates goalkeeper Steve Phillips throughout the 90 minutes.

"I gave the players a half-time rocket but it made no difference," said Moore, whose side have now lost five times away from home in the league this season.

"We looked tired and gave the ball away throughout the game, which just isn't like us.

"We haven't really created a chance. I switched from 4-5-1 to 4-4-2 in the second half, but nothing changed. This performance is a concern and we have to start doing better on our travels."
