Briggs happy to 'play anywhere'

Tue 15 Jan, 06:45 PM

New Shrewsbury signing Keith Briggs says he is prepared to "play anywhere" for the club if it means the difference between winning and losing.Briggs, who joined on non-contract terms after leaving Stockport, joined the Shrews on Friday and was thrust straight into first-team action two days later to face local rivals Hereford.

The game offered mixed fortunes for the midfielder, who scored on his debut but ended up on the losing side in the 3-1 defeat.

"I was a bit surprised to be starting after only joining the club last week but overall I was happy with the game," he told the club's official website.

"I'm quite happy to play anywhere if it helps the club to win the three points. I did it enough at Stockport and played here, there and everywhere in the side when asked.

"Sometimes it's a bit frustrating as you want a run in one position but as long as you are on the pitch and enjoying your football then it's fine."
