Notts County midfielder Neil MacKenzie has flown to Germany to undergo a second hernia operation as he looks to finally cure the problem.The 31-year-old, who travelled to Munich for surgery in November, returned to the Bavarian capital in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Like last time, MacKenzie is expected to miss only one league game - Chester's visit to Meadow Lane on Saturday - and he should be back in the squad for the trip to Morecambe the following weekend.

Manager Ian McParland told the club's official website: "He requires another operation to repair damage on the opposite side. Hopefully this will clear everything up once and for all.

"Neil has been getting through games but we have been keen to get the operation booked and get him sorted."
