Chelsea have agreed terms with Lokomotiv Moscow for Branislav Ivanovic.

The Serbian defender has already had a work permit application approved.

The 23-year-old centre back signed for Lokomotiv in the summer of 2006, and has gone on to make over 60 appearances for the Russian capital club, and featured in the 1-1 UEFA Cup draw with Aberdeen in November.

Ivanovic captained Serbia in the 2007 under-21 European championships in the Netherlands.

Despite losing 2-0 to England in the group phase and 4-1 to the host nation in the final, Ivanovic was named in the team of the tournament, and has since made nine appearances for the full national side.
