Our man at Ashton Gate was impressed by David James's FA Cup performance against Bristol City.

Have you seen a Roy of the Rovers moment this season?

I'll go with David James's save from Marvin Elliott in our FA Cup third-round replay last night: he got down very quickly and made a very good stop. I was half-hoping he would drop one of his clangers - but instead he did that!

What is the most memorable match you have been to while supporting your club?

The first day of the season in 1976 when we won 1-0 at Arsenal in what is now known as the Premier League after an absence of 65 years. That was the high point!

Is there a referee you are fond of - or not so fond of? Are officiating standards getting better or worse?

Going back 20 years Lester Shapter always seemed to have a 'mare at Ashton Gate. Standards are currently consistently inconsistent: good refs can have bad games too.

What are the best and worst things about Ashton Gate? Which are the best and worst grounds you have been to following City?

On its day it has got some soul, unlike a lot of the bowls clubs are building. I still don't like the teams emerging from one end - it is better when they come out on the halfway line. The best has to be Wembley at the play-off final last season; as for the worst, the old Manor Ground in Oxford took some beating.

What do you like and dislike about your own fans?

What I like is that they are very partisan: last night, for instance, we were a goal down against Portsmouth and under pressure, but they got behind the team while we were defending - and they can be very noisy.

I don't like the mindless abhorrence of Bristol Rovers. I can be as partisan as the next man and say City are better than Rovers - and we are - but I like to see Rovers do well.

Love your club? We are recruiting fans from each Championship club to have their say throughout the campaign.

If you are dedicated enough to share your thoughts on your club's fortunes, send an email to viewfromtheterraces@yahoo.co.uk.

Include your team name as the subject and add your name, the town you live in and why you should be chosen as a representative of your club.
