Luedi wins again in Les Contamines
Switzerland's Sanna Luedi picked up her second FIS Ski Cross World Cup victory in the space of four days after coming out on top in Les Contamines.
The 25-year-old has been consistent ever since the curtain raising event in Italy in December with two second-places finishes to her name as well as a ninth.
Luedi claimed her first win of the season in Alpe d’Huez on Wednesday and followed up on it in Les Contamines to take her points tally at the top of the World Cup rankings to 389.
In a final also involving her Swiss teammate Katrin Mueller and home French skiers Ophelie David and Alizee Baron, Luedi comfortably crossed home first with the latter taking second.
David came home third after forcing Mueller into an error while in the men’s event, Luedi’s Swiss teammate Alex Fiva put a disappointing result in Alpe d’Huez behind him by recording victory.
Fiva finished 18th last time out but beat off the charge of Norwegian Didrik Bastian Juell while Nick Zoricic got the better of home skier, France’s Jonas Devouassoux, to finish third.
The Swiss skier’s win promotes him to the top of the overall Ski Cross World Cup standings ahead of Canadian Brady Leman, who could only finish 14th in Les Contamines.
