Gillingham midfielder Nicky Southall looks likely to be passed fit for the League One trip to face Northampton at Sixfields on Saturday. The 36-year-old returned for last weekend's defeat at Oldham after serving a one-match ban, but was forced off in the 66th minute with a hamstring problem.
Southall has been training and boss Mark Stimson will make a last minute decision as to whether he will include him in his squad.
Fellow midfielder Mark Bentley will not feature as he struggles to overcome an Achilles injury.
Striker Luis Cumbers is on work experience with AFC Wimbledon, midfielder Craig Stone has extended his loan at Brentford and Efe Sodje has joined Bury on a month's loan.
Stimson has called on his side to steer clear of a relegation fight as the Gills sit just inside the drop-zone without a victory in their last six games.
