Aberdeen gave UEFA Cup favourites Bayern Munich a real fright at Pittodrie as they lead twice before drawing 2-2 in a cracking first-leg tie.
Jimmy Calderwood's side started brightly and took the lead thanks to on-loan Middlesbrough midfielder Josh Walker's curling effort from 20 yards.
Bayern battled back and equalised when Miroslav Klose scored in the 29th minute as he found the top corner following Luca Toni's head-on.
However just as it looked like the Bundesliga leaders would go in at the break level, Aberdeen regained the lead.
Sone Aluko, who is on-loan at Pittodrie from Birmingham, made the score 2-1 with a low finish underneath the body of Bayern keeper Michael Rensing.
A controversial second-half penalty decision rescued a draw for Bayern as Hamit Altintop levelled from the spot after Spanish referee Eduardo Iturralde Gonzalez had penalised Alan Maybury for handball despite previously ignoring two similar Aberdeen appeals.
Toni was almost presented with a late chance to win the match for Bayern when Zander Diamond stepped on the ball as he intercepted Altintop's cross but Jamie Langfield dived at the Italian's feet to smother.
