Steve Brooker netted his fifth goal in six games to earn a second successive win for Cheltenham as they beat Bristol Rovers 1-0.The loan signing headed in from close range 10 minutes from time after Rovers had failed to clear a David Bird free-kick.
Cheltenham, who had seen a first-half header from Damian Spencer disallowed for offside, were indebted to a fine display from keeper Shane Higgs.
The Robins stopper produced two brilliant second-half saves to deny Sean Rigg and also saved well from Craig Disley and Lewis Haldane in the first half.
Rovers substitute Richard Walker came close to rescuing a point after 87 minutes when he flashed a shot just wide but then missed a sitter 60 seconds later when somehow he blazed over from just 10 yards.
The visitors enjoyed the lion's share of the possession with Cheltenham creating few chances with Brooker their most potent threat, notably when he headed just wide after 73 minutes.
