Reading defender John Halls is set to play for his fourth club of the season after joining Sheffield United on loan for a month. The 26-year-old has found first-team opportunities limited with the Royals and has already spent time at Preston and Crystal Palace on loan this season.
United have been short of a right-back since the departure of Leigh Bromby to Watford in the January transfer window and Halls becomes Blades boss Kevin Blackwell's first signing since taking charge at Bramall Lane last month.
"Because of our problems with injuries, I am delighted at bringing John to the club," Blackwell told the club's official website.
"Hopefully he'll have a good stay and be able to put himself in the shop window as he is out of contract at the end of the season."
