Sat 15 Mar, 03:00 PM

Kasper Schmeichel is relishing the rigours of Championship football and the prospect of getting his Coventry career up and running. The Manchester City goalkeeper joined the Sky Blues on loan during the week, and looks set for a prolonged spell in the City side due to on-going injuries to Andy Marshall and Dimi Konstantopoulos.

"I can't wait to get started," said Schmeichel, who had a three-month loan spell at Cardiff earlier in the season.

"Playing games is very important for me.

"There is a lot of pressure coming to Coventry in the predicament we are in. The Championship is probably the most unpredictable league in Europe because on any given day, anybody can beat anybody."

He added to the club's official website: "I can't really say what I am going to bring to the squad. The only thing I can do is my best. I don't think you can talk about anything specific I am going to bring - I am just going to do my best."
