Roma Close Gap On Inter

Sat 15 Mar, 11:09 PM

Roma closed the gap on Serie A leaders Internazionale to three points on Saturday night after scoring two goals in three minutes to see off AC Milan 2-1 at the Stadio Olimpico.

Kaka opened the scoring in the 56th minute to seemingly put the visitors on course to extend their 10-game unbeaten run in Serie A.

However, substitutes Ludovic Giuly and Mirko Vucinic netted after 78 and 81 minutes to secure the three points for Roma, who have now won three consecutive top-flight games.

The result leaves Milan one point behind Fiorentina, who host Genoa on Sunday, in the race for the final Champions League qualifying spot.

A late Antonio Di Natale strike ensured Udinese a share of the spoils at home to fellow European hopefuls Lazio on Saturday.

Lazio went ahead through Tommaso Rocchi's 11th-minute strike but Damiano Ferronetti equalised for the hosts early in the second period.

Cristian Ledesma fired the visitors in front again with 10 minutes remaining but there was still time for Di Natale to pop up with the leveller.

The point leaves Udinese in sixth place, two points clear of Sampdoria who play Catania on Sunday, while Lazio stay 11th, seven points shy of the Udine outfit.
