1654: Hahnemann comes up for a free-kick and is caught stranded upfield as Reina saves and clears. Alonso goes for goal from inside his own half but, despite having scored twice in such fashion before for the Reds, this time his effort is off target. 1527: At Anfield, Babel cuts in from the left and hits a thunderbolt which Hahnemann tips over. Babel then has the ball in the net following a cross from Gerrard but is flagged offside. A correct decision.

1525: It's all going wrong for League One leaders Swansea, who are now 3-0 down to Northampton as the hosts fire in three goals in nine minutes.

1515: The only two goals in League Two so far have been scored by MK Dons, who lead Dagenham and Redbridge 2-0 via strikes from Aaron Wilbraham and Lloyd Dyer. If results stay the same, they'd go top of the table tonight.

1503: An open start to the game at Anfield with Alonso having a deflected shot from distance saved by Marcus Hahnemann.

1458: Hibernian go into their home match against Kilmarnock knowing they will

climb to third place in the SPL with a victory. Manager Mixu Paatelainen is forced into making two changes to the side that defeated Motherwell 1-0 in midweek, as young left-back Paul Hanlon replaces the suspended Ian Murray while Ross Chisholm is granted a starting berth with Brian

Kerr injured. Kilmarnock manager Jim Jefferies also makes two changes to his starting-line-up

following their 1-0 loss against St Mirren a fortnight ago. Defender Martyn Corrigan fails to recover from an ankle knock and is replaced by Grant Murray, while David Fernandez comes in for Allan Johnston.

1455: Inverness manager Craig Brewster makes two changes to his starting line-up for

the SPL home clash with Falkirk. Roy McBain comes into midfield and Dennis Wyness starts alongside Marius Niculae up front, as Dougie Imrie drops to the bench and Markus Paatelainen

misses out completely. Neither club had a game last weekend, and Inverness are looking to bounce

back from their 3-0 home defeat to Hearts a fortnight ago. Falkirk's last outing saw the club held to a goalless draw at home by Motherwell, and boss John Hughes selects an unchanged XI.

1453: The Gretna team who take to the field against Aberdeen have an unsurprisingly

unfamiliar look as the crisis-stricken club battle to cope with the threat of

extinction. There are fears when Gretna were placed in administration earlier this week

that they would be unable to field a side at Pittodrie. In the end, the Gretna line-up for this Clydesdale Bank Premier League contest shows six changes from the Borderers' last match against Dundee United, which ended in a 3-0 defeat. Artur Krysiak, Rostyn Griffiths, Ben Wilkinson, Abdul Osman, Ryan Baldacchino and Henry Makinwa are all handed starts. Gavin Skelton drops to the bench, while Greg Fleming, Chris Innes, John Paul Kissock, Mickael Buscher and Craig Barr are not named in the squad. Aberdeen make one change from the team that drew 1-1 with Celtic in the

Scottish Cup on Sunday, as Barry Nicholson replaced the injured Jamie Smith.

1449: Skipper Sol Campbell fails a fitness test on his damaged knee so Portsmouth

have to switch Hermann Hreidarsson from left-back to centre-half for the battle between the Premier League's sixth and seventh-placed sides at Fratton Park. Lauren comes in to fill the gap left by Hreidarsson's switch from left-back while midfielder Lassana Diarra is back after a midweek rest at the expense of Pedro Mendes. Former Aston Villa striker Milan Baros is retained up front alongside Jermain Defoe. For Villa, who start seven points behind fifth-placed Everton, Olof Mellberg takes over from Craig Gardner in defence and Gabriel Agbonlahor is passed fit to

continue up front. As far as UEFA Cup qualification is concerned, it looks a must-win match for

Villa who have lost just twice away from home this season and just once in the last 17 games.

1447: Hearts are without injured trio Christian Nade, LaryeaKingston and Ibrahim

Tall for their SPL trip to St Mirren. Stevie Frail's travellers are seeking their third consecutive win away from home in the league - and bring in Jamie Mole for his first SPL start. St Mirren, aiming to chalk up a first league victory since January 19, have no fresh injuries. In-form Andy Dorman retains his place.

1441: Chelsea boss Avram Grant drafts star striker Didier Drogba back into the

starting line-up for the trip to struggling Sunderland. The former Marseille frontman, who sat out the 6-1 drubbing of Derby in midweek, replaces Nicolas Anelka in one of three changes as Alex and John Obi Mikel take over from Ricardo Carvalho and Claude Makelele. Sunderland manager Roy Keane hands winger Carlos Edwards a first start since December 1 following his recovery from a broken leg. He is included along with Andy Reid and Roy O'Donovan with Kieran Richardson, Anthony Stokes and Daryl Murphy dropping out of the 16.

1440: Ben Foster is handed his first start for Manchester United since signing for

the Reds in July 2005. Foster is finally given his chance due to Edwin van der Sar being sidelined

with a groin injury and Tomasz Kuszczak suspended. Foster is one of four changes to the side beaten 1-0 in the FA Cup by Portsmouth last week, with Ryan Giggs returning as captain after overcoming a calf injury. Anderson and John O'Shea are also handed starts, with Rio Ferdinand, Nani and Carlos Tevez not in the 16, while Owen Hargreaves is amongst the substitutes. Following a 6-1 mauling at Chelsea on Wednesday, Rams manager Paul Jewell makes three changes, with two enforced due to injuries to defender Alan Stubbs and midfielder Stephen Pearson. Dean Leacock and David Jones are recalled, while Rob Earnshaw is handed a rare start in attack as Jewell opts to play two strikers, with Hossam Ghaly dropped to the bench.

1436: West Ham have Luis Boa Morte suspended for today's clash against Blackburn at Upton Park. Nolberto Solano replaces him in midfield, but boss Alan Curbishley otherwise

keeps the same team as last week's defeat at Tottenham. There is no place on the bench, however, for striker Carlton Cole. Youngsters James Tomkins and Freddie Sears are among the substitutes. Blackburn boss Mark Hughes replaces Benni McCarthy with Jason Roberts in attack; David Dunn comes in for Tugay in midfield, while Brett Emerton returns from a groin complaint.

1435: Liverpool make two changes from the side that beat Inter Milan in the San Siro

on Tuesday, with Xabi Alonso returning to midfield and Alvaro Arbeloa to defence. Sami Hyypia drops to the bench, allowing Jamie Carragher back to his central defensive duties, while Alonso replaces Lucas Leiva. Reading, having won their last two league matches, are unchanged from the

side that beat Manchester City last weekend as they bid for their first ever victory at Anfield.

1422: Full-time at Blackpool and it's finished 0-0.

1320: It's half-time in the Blackpool v Preston clash and it's been a goalless first 45 minutes.

1230: Today's early Championship kick-off - Blackpool v Preston - is now under way.

1200: Motherwell's SPL game against Celtic at Fir Park, scheduled for 1230, has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. The much-criticised Fir Park surface, which is also being used by Gretna, has failed numerous pitch inspections this season. The latest postponement came after a 9am inspection and leaves Celtic three points behind SPL leaders Rangers who have a game in hand over the champions.
