Charlton have offered nine youth-team players their first-year scholarships at The Valley next season as they look to build for the future.FA Youth Cup stars Jonjo Shelvey and Yado Mambo lead the new intake and they are joined by Jack Binks, Tamer Tuna, Lewis Perkins, Harry Pell, Carl Jenkinson, Liam Bellamy and Ben Davisson.
Assistant academy manager Steve Avory told the club's official website: "It is no coincidence that there are eight local lads and that four of the nine players have been in the academy since they were nine.
"This illustrates the length of time the club spends on developing players and emphasises the importance of identifying talent and recruitment at such a young age."
